I Envy Bella Swan

It's true, I'm jealous of Bella. But not for the same reason hundreds of thousands (millions?) of teenage girls do all around the world. I don't actually want to have a boyfriend that wants to kill me and drink my blood. I don't want to fight the Volturi, or have to pick between Edward and Jacob. And I certainly don't want to have my baby try to kill me from the inside. (If you are one of the three people who haven't read the last book, sorry for the spoiler.)

What I envy about Bella, is her ability to make a decision, and stick to it. She doesn't turn back, change her mind, or rethink it a thousand times. That's what I do.

And it's SO frustrating.

I recently came to a crossroads, with my writing, and I don't know which direction to take. I'm playing around with a few different genres. I can't decide which one to pursue. I can't decide if I want to write for adults, or young adults. Serious? Funny? Real world or Fantasy? I know I can dabble around a bit in several, but ultimately, I feel like I should have a general focus. But it keeps changing.

And it's driving me crazy.

Just when I think I know, I think "What if I try..."

That's the joy of the computer. Instead of using a type writer and all of your words being set in ink, you can write as much as you want and then go back and edit it to the right direction after seeing the overall idea!

I've written a post on my blog about how it would be nice to do the things a friend of mine can do.

After comparing myself to her, it's only blown myself to pieces.

And further more. I have not read any of the Twi books. I ask people to ell me about them and hey ALL say, "You just need to read the books." I on't want to read the books, i just want to hear what the plot is so I can get the gist of it.

Thank you for being a lone wolf in a vampire world and telling me about the story or in other words, thank you for "spoiling" it for me!

I know that feeling well. I loved our writing class. Afterwords I felt overwhelmed with "now what?" so I forced myself to do something new and started my blog. I use my photography as my writing prompt and it just pours out like magic. Find a prompt, write it and see what comes out for you. You are very talented. I'm sure it will be amazing...whatever it is.

But the beauty of writing is that you can actually do more than one thing.

And frankly, Bella may be able to make a quick decision, but let's face it--they aren't always very smart ones. :)
